Malayalam Movie Pazhassiraja

MT, Hariharan , mammootty team will join together for the historic movie pazhassi raja which will hit theaters soon.Megastar of indian cinema Mammootty will perform as Pazhassi raja , MT writes the story and Hariharan directs the movie.

Kamal hasan will give an intruductory talk about the movie in tamil version, Mohanlal in Malayalam and Sharukh khan in Hindi.The Music of the movie handled by oscar award winner Rasool Pookkutty.Tamil actress Kanika will be in the female lead.

Mammootty's Pazhassi Raja preparing for a world wide release with 1000 prints for the first time in malayalam cinema.Gokulam films producing the movie with budget of 25 crores with MT vasudevan nair story and Hariharan's super direction after mega hit movie 'Oru Vadakkan Veera Gadha'.

Tamil actor Sharath kumar and Mammootty inagurated the website of Pazhassi Raja in Chennai.Sharathkumar doing the role of 'Edacheri Kunkan'.Sharath kumar told: The experience working with Mammootty he never forget and happy to be a part of this historical movie.Pazhasi Raja will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English.

History

Thomas Harvey Babar, a young British officer came as the sub collector of Thalassery in 1804 and was assigned the responsibility of suppressing the Pazhassi revolution. In April, he issued a directive making it illegal for the local population to help the revolutionaries and he also mandated that the British should be informed about the movements of the revolutionaries. On June 16, a reward was announced for the capture of Pazhassi and his commanders and soon Thalakkal Chanthu was captured

On 1 November, Baber took direct charge of the operations and on November 30, 1805 he surrounded and Raja but he commited sucide by swallowing his ring on the banks of a river. The Raja's body was cremated with "customary honours". With the death of Pazhassi Raja, the resistance movement in north Kerala came to an end.

His body was taken back with respect by the British and cremated, but his death bought an end to the resistance movement. The other leaders either committed suicide or left the country.
